Alec Baldwin could file a civil rights lawsuit against the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office, after a judge dismissed his manslaughter case due to withheld evidence. Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer found the state “highly culpable” for failing to disclose a batch of bullets to the defense.

Alec Baldwin’s legal team has signaled its intention to sue a Santa Fe sheriff and prosecutor after it was revealed they withheld evidence during his trial for the on-set shooting death of “Rust” cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

Baldwin's trial came to a sudden end last week when the judge dismissed the case based on police misconduct and withheld evidence.
