The judge presiding over Karen Read’s murder trial has agreed to keep the jury anonymous indefinitely after a juror said they fear for their safety in light of the media circus surrounding the case.

The juror list for the Karen Read murder case that ended in mistrial will remain impounded indefinitely, the judge ordered today, after a juror shared fears of personal harm should the names be released.

Judge Beverly Cannone has indefinitely impounded the names of the six men and six women who served on the jury in the Karen Read case.

In a new court filing, defense attorneys said Tuesday that the retrial of Karen Read “should not be allowed,” calling the state’s continued push for a conviction in the death of her Boston police officer boyfriend John O’Keefe “grossly unfair.

In his Thursday affidavit, Alan Jackson wrote “Juror E explained that the jury was ‘unanimous on 1 and 3′ that Karen Read was NOT GUILTY of those charges.”

Citing jurors' "credible" and "reasonable fear for their safety and the safety of their family," Judge Beverly Cannone on Thursday ordered the list of Karen Read murder trial jurors to be indefinitely impounded.

Karen Read, whose trial on murder and other charges ended in a mistrial earlier this month, has put her Mansfield home up for sale for $849,900.
