By Joseph Ax (Reuters) -Abortion rights advocates are working to place the issue on ballots in nearly a dozen U.S. states in November's election, including several expected to play central roles in the presidential race and the battle for control of Congress.

Organizers of an effort to scale back Arkansas' abortion ban face a deadline to submit enough signatures to try to get their proposal before voters in November.

In Missouri, abortion was banned almost immediately after Roe v. Wade was overturned. Two years later, there's an effort to enshrine abortion access in the state's constitution by putting it on the ballot this election cycle.
