This class, which now has six members as Utopia of the Seas joins the Royal Caribbean fleet, introduced the neighborhood concept to cruise ships. Those neighborhoods include two outdoor spaces — Central Park and The Boardwalk — which are unlike anything previously seen on a cruise ship.

Speaking during a preview event for the line's new Utopia of the Seas, Bayley suggested Royal Caribbean's next new class of ships (to be called the Discovery Class) would be smaller than the giant ships the line has been rolling out in recent years, according to several media outlets that were on board.

The new 5,668-passenger Royal Caribbean Utopia of the Seas is docked in Florida, where sites like Cruise Critic have gotten a preview of the amenities before it enters service on July 19th. That includes a unique experience called Royal Railway Utopia Station,
